Unique System Improvements Made to Treat Groundwater Under the Influence (GUI)

You are here: Home / Business / Unique System Improvements Made to Treat Groundwater Under the Influence (GUI)

The residents of the Rim Rock Ranch subdivision in Bulverde, Texas, are getting better water quality because of the recently improved water treatment facility. In the video above, we go through our journey of how we created a better experience for our customers.

When we first took over the treatment plant, the wells met the proper water quality levels. However, after a major storm, the water became very turbid (when water looks cloudy because of dissolved sediment). As soon as this was discovered, we immediately issued a boil water notice and maintained constant communication with the homeowners association. After testing conducted by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, they determined the water is groundwater under the influence (GUI). This means that although the water is groundwater, it needs to be filtered and treated like surface water. We are proud of the improvements we have made to the system in order to ensure our customers are receiving the best, quality water possible.
