Texas Water Utilities delivers Thanksgiving turkeys to customers in need with a Lone Star staple

Featured is Tim Williford, Vice President of Texas West Operations.

SUGAR LAND, Texas – Families served in Anderson, Bexar, Chambers, Denton, Hays, Henderson, Hood, Johnson, Kendall, Kerr, Liberty, Marion, Matagorda, Montgomery, Parker, Smith, Travis, Trinity, Tyler, Williamson, Wise, Wood counties by Texas Water Utilities received Greenberg Smoked Turkeys for Thanksgiving this year, as part of the Project Wishbone program launched in 2012. Project Wishbone provides access to a Thanksgiving meal for Texas Water Utilities customers who may not be able to afford one.

Pre-registered customers received a pre-cooked smoked turkey for a family dinner, delivered directly to their home.

“That any company would think of their customers this time of year and give back, especially with our turkeys, is a wonderful thing,” Sam Greenberg, president of Greenberg Smoked Turkeys, Inc., said. “We are incredibly honored that Texas Water Utilities chose Greenberg Turkeys for the Project Wishbone program this year.”

This year, Texas Water Utilities distributed a total of 96 turkeys from the Tyler-based company in 22 Texas counties.

“This is the tenth year we’ve carried out ‘Project Wishbone,’ allowing us to give back to our families across Texas,” Jeffrey L. McIntyre, president of Texas Water Utilities, said. “We’re grateful to be able to continue to serve or neighbors in need during the holiday season, and support a beloved local Texas company at the same time.”
