Monarch Gives Back at Thanksgiving

You are here: Home / News / Monarch Gives Back at Thanksgiving

Monarch Utilities families in Henderson County received a traditional Thanksgiving meal this year courtesy of the fifth annual Project Wishbone.

Monarch Utilities I, L.P., a subsidiary of SouthWest Water Company, launched the program in 2012 to offer ready-to-cook food baskets to qualified Monarch customers who wished to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal, but may not be able to afford one.

Last week, pre-registered Monarch customers in Henderson County received a basket filled with everything needed to prepare a family dinner.

Monarch employees distributed baskets to customers who chose between a turkey basket with green bean casserole and au gratin potatoes, or a ham basket with cinnamon apples and broccoli rice casserole.

“This is the fifth year for our Project Wishbone program, and we are proud that we are able to give back to local families who otherwise would not have been able to afford a Thanksgiving meal,” said Ronniea Tycer, director, communications and customer care at SouthWest Water Company. “We believe giving back to the community is an important part of our responsibility to the people we serve.”

This year, Monarch Utilities distributed a total of 219 food baskets in 22 counties.
