This year, Suburban Water Systems is investing approximately $22.5 M to support continued reliable service.

Did you know?

Water infrastructure is the backbone of a healthy community. We rely on our infrastructure systems to deliver the safe, reliable water services we depend on each day.

Throughout the country, many of these systems are aging and in need of repair, rehabilitation and replacement. They require ongoing investment to maintain safe and reliable operations.

At Suburban Water Systems, we work hard to upgrade our local systems so our customers can continue to trust the service we deliver now and in the future. Our customers support these important investments by paying their bills.

2025 investments include, among others, replacing valves, meters, fire hydrants and the following:

  • Replacing more than two miles of deteriorating and failing water mains to reduce breaks that cause interruptions to customer service, and to improve fire protection capacity
  • Replacing a 100-year-old failing concrete tank in La Puente with an earthquake resistant steel tank to serve customers for the next 100 years
  • Constructing a PFAS removal treatment plant to protect customers in the Whitter and La Mirada service areas
  • Constructing a manganese removal treatment plant to provide clean water to the customers of the Sativa service area
  • Installing backup power generators at 6 booster plants to ensure they keep pumping during utility power outage events to provide emergency and firefighting supply
  • Replacing aging water meters with Smart Meters that provide customers with access to detailed usage information to inform efficient water use to save money and reduce water waste.
  • Constructing a new well in La Mirada to provide local groundwater that cost less, is more reliable, and produces less greenhouse gases than imported water
