This week, May 3-9, 2026, is Drinking Water Week, an annual observance to highlight the importance of safe, reliable drinking water. During this week, and every day, we recognize the tireless efforts of water professionals who keep service flowing around the clock.

Our local team takes great pride in being counted on by our customers for so much, from their morning coffee to supporting community healthcare, emergency response, sanitation, and more. And while many take for granted the way of life we support, we know just how important it is, and how important the local water service team is to the communities we serve. Drinking Water Week is a great time to highlight their work and celebrate it.

Drinking Water Week is also a good reminder of the importance of protecting our precious water resources. Educating our youth about drinking water, including how it gets to homes and businesses, and how to protect it, can encourage our young leaders to take action for today and the future. A free children’s activity book created for Drinking Water Week offers fun, educational activities. Parents and teachers can access it here.
