Our president, Craig Sorensen, was on a panel at the Southeastern Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners Annual Education Conference in San Antonio in early June. The panel, “Like a Good Neighbor: Regional Mutual Assistance,” also featured executives from Mississippi Power and Delta Utilities.
In preparation for emergencies, utility companies have mutual assistance agreements with each other that allow them to temporarily increase their workforce by requesting crews to help respond to major outage events. This usually occurs during significant storms.
