At this quarter’s Midlands Operator Water and Wastewater (WOW) awards, the following were recognized from South Carolina Water Utilities and Blue Granite Water Company for the best work and plants:
- Terrance Wallace – wastewater operator of the quarter for the Blue Granite Bush River Plant
- Douglas “DJ” Jones – water operator of the quarter for service to Sumter and Richland Counties, particularly Pocalla, Oak Ridge Hunt Club, Harmon Hills, and Oakland Plantation
- Brandi Hickey – the inaugural “super star award” for the fantastic job she has done in her role, in locating sewer and water lines for Blue Granite
As President Craig Sorensen said during the lunchtime presentation, “We do hard things and we do them well, and we do them together.”
Awards were presented by Adam James, vice president of operations for Blue Granite Water Company, and President Craig Sorensen.
