GRESB is a globally-recognized, independent rating service that measures the long-term sustainability of infrastructure companies through an assessment of the company’s environmental, social and governance principles. GRESB Infrastructure provides systematic assessment, objective scoring, and peer benchmarking for ESG performance of infrastructure companies and funds. 

SouthWest Water and its subsidiaries received high marks for its environmental, social, governance efforts. Specifically, in 2020, SouthWest Water: 

  • Earned a 5-star rating in all five years the GRESB Infrastructure survey has been administered (2016-2020). 
  • Overall ranked in 53rd out of 406 total GRESB entries 
  • Achieved a score of 85 compared to a GRESB Average of 61. 
  • Ranked 12th out of 98 participants for our Resilience Module. 

“We’ve got a fully dedicated team here at SouthWest Water that I know works hard each day to follow through with our mission and values,” said CEO Rob MacLean, “Our diligence is apparent here in our score.” 

Each employees’ ethical standards and commitment to our values enabled us to achieve this success. Our emphasis on community citizenship, stewardship of the environment, and customer care is presented through our daily practices as a company. 

The same core values are carried over through providing customers with multiple outlets to voice concerns. Our dedication and immediate action to address any concern is the driving force in maintaining our trust with customers. This score also indicates we are effectively training job safety which in turn leads to employee success. 

Our mission is to hold ourselves accountable as stewards of one of the most important resources in the world. This score is a great reflection of us upholding this mission, our positive impact on society, and the developments we are making to progress into the years to come.
