Suburban Waters Systems Stage 1 Conservation Restrictions
Over the past year rainfall and snowfall in California have been extremely low, much of the state is experiencing extreme drought, and water sources are being strained. By only using as much water as required and avoiding water waste you can help our community weather the drought. You can join your neighbors avoiding water waste by following these best practices.
Suburban Water Systems has a Drought Contingency Plan that limits your irrigation of outside landscapes or turf with potable water to three days per week. If your house number or business address ends in an even number, like 532 , 4298 or 8266, water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays; odd numbered addresses Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. What about Fridays? We all take a break. No watering on Friday. Yards will still have enough water to keep them healthy and attractive. For governmental entities irrigating parks, please make sure a station is watered only 3 times per week. There is currently not a time limit on how long you can water, but we recommend you water for the appropriate amount of time to prevent pooling or runoff. Irrigating of landscape is prohibited between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Suburban Water Systems’ Water Conservation and Rationing Plan is described in our Tariffs and Rates Rule 14.1 document (PDF). We also encourage you to take advantage of conservation programs available on our web site.
Urban Water Management Plan 2020
Suburban Water Systems’ Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) has been prepared consistent with the requirements under Water Code Sections 10610 through 10656 of the Urban Water Management Planning Act (Act) and its amendments. The Act requires that “every urban water supplier providing water for municipal purposes to more than 3,000 customers or supplying more than 3,000 acre-feet of water annually, to prepare and adopt, in accordance with prescribed requirements, an urban water management plan.” These plans support the Suburban Water Systems’ long-term resource planning to ensure adequate water supplies are available to meet existing and future water needs.
